After Years of 2 a.m. Wakeups, These 3 Things Finally Helped Me Sleep

Do you have trouble sleeping at night?

Is your mind racing when it should be resting?

Are you tired of being tired all the time?

My Sleep Struggles

Falling asleep wasn't an issue. I usually drifted off just fine.

But around 2 or 3 AM, I'd wake up to use the bathroom... and that was the end of sleep.

I'd lay there, mind spinning, hoping to fall back asleep. But the hours dragged on.

By morning, I felt like I had hardly slept at all. Tired, groggy, with a foggy brain that just wouldn't clear.

I was dreading the day before it even began.

Something Had to Change

I couldn't live this way anymore.

I knew I didn’t want to rely on sleep drugs like Ambien, especially after reading about their nasty side effects.

Then I found something new. I wasn't sure it would work, but I was desperate, so I tried it.

And now?

Even if I wake up during the night, I fall back asleep. No stress. No struggle. Just sleep.

I wake up clear-headed, rested, and ready to take on the day. It changed everything for me.

If it worked for me, maybe it can help you too.

What I Tried That Didn't Work

Like you, I tried everything:

  • Blackout curtains
  • Cold bedroom
  • No naps
  • Melatonin
  • Sleep routines
  • BluBlocker glasses
  • Morning sun (circadian rhythm)
  • Regular exercise
  • Hot showers before bed
  • No liquids after dinner
  • Even sardines for omega-3s!

Some helped a little. Nothing lasted.

The only thing that gave me short-term relief was magnesium lotion. I'd rub it on my face, chest, and feet. It helped me sleep, maybe because it lowers cortisol, the stress hormone.

But after a while, even that stopped working, unless I saved it for emergencies.

What Finally Helped Me Sleep

After years of frustration, I found three things that, together, finally worked for me:

1) L. Reuteri Yogurt

This probiotic yogurt was developed by Dr. William Davis, a former chronic insomniac.

He originally created it for gut health, but many people  -  myself included  -  report deeper, more restful sleep.

My wife makes a fresh batch almost every day. It's become part of our evening routine.

It doesn't knock you out like a drug. It naturally helps your body to sleep and stay asleep.

I'll share how we make it at the end, in case you want to try it too.

2) Sleep Patches

These small, round patches are completely drug-free. They reflect your body's own light to gently activate a copper peptide that supports healing and deeper sleep.

Nothing enters your body. No drugs. No chemicals. They're easy to use and I've noticed they work best when used together.

These patches have helped me sleep more deeply than I have in years.

3) A Honey-Lavender Drink

This one surprised me. It's a honey-lavender powder I mix with water about an hour before bed.

It doesn't knock you out or fog your brain the next morning. It just gives your system a gentle nudge, like it's finally hearing, "Hey… it's time to shut it down."

It's especially helpful when your body's tired but your mind won't quit running the day's to-do list.

And yep, it works even better when paired with the patches.

Confession: These days, I sleep so deeply I sometimes wake up and have to hurry to the bathroom!

Your Next Step

If you're tired of trying everything and still not sleeping well, these three things might finally help you sleep, especially when you combine them.

Curious how the patches and the drink work together?

Reach out and I'll show you how I use them and what finally made the difference for me.

P.S. When I was younger, I could fall asleep in seconds.

But once I hit middle age, that changed. Sleep became unpredictable and frustrating.

If you've ever found yourself lying awake at 2:57 AM wondering, “Why can't I just sleep?” - you’re not alone. I've been there too.

And no, it's not your fault.

But you also don't have to keep living this way.

Want to try the yogurt too? I put together a simple guide with the exact recipe and method my wife and I use. You can check it out here.
